Divemaster Internship week 9 – Alvaro

Dan gave me good morning with this news that we had been requested by a film company to help with a filming set to happen the following week. This would include boat, rescue diver and all the equipment. I will be underwater (as rescue diver following the cameramen underwater), and we’ll be helping from the boat supporting material as well in “El Porís de Abona”.

Starting with more dives this week, still sharing these with the company of Laura who enjoyed the Cave in Abama and the wreck in Tabaiba.

Almost everything around the world of diving is fantastic, however diving and walking in the high mountains don’t get along very well. (Like flying after diving) That’s why since I arrived I had not been able to climb the volcano El Teide. I used my day off this week for going up before saying goodbye to Laura after a few fantastic days.

January is a quiet month where most tourists are older people. They usually do not come for diving to Tenerife. However, we have had a few people came to visit us doing 6 dive packages etc.

We received some more good trip advisor reviews, they praise the great information we provide through briefings and knowledge. It’s not the first time  customers who have tried other dives and other dive centres select Paradise Divers due to the briefings, safety and friendliness….

We have also put up the new sign for the centre, getting the boat ready for filming and for future dives (and we’ll have a new 4×4 available at the dive centre next week).

I also premiered my new regulator Scubapro  MK2 EVO, R095 which I brought through Paradise Divers and it is very good.

Now I see really near the end of the divemaster internship, since almost all skills are finished. Skills left we’ll get finished probably this coming week.

It seems that in a couple of weeks Paula is coming to join the staff of Paradise Divers to enjoy her three months of divemaster Internship. We will share some time and experience. I’ll probably feel the same as Gabor (the previous Divemaster Intern) felt when I got to the dive centre around November. I was a little lost without many references, but I’m sure she will be adapt quickly as I did.

Next week I will tell you about the filming and also try to share some pics (still we don’t know what it is, so I cannot give the scoop of the main actor…maybe a famous one, maybe a future movie star…who knows!!)

See you soon and thanks for follow my blog
